Videos That Are A Must Watch

Cycle of Cultivation

It is important to think how to use the cycle of cultivation with your annual giving donors. How are you going to identify, engage, ask and steward these donors? For most of your donors, annual giving is how they give to your organization, you want to make sure that you are strategically thinking about the cycle of cultivation with these donors.

Let's focus on the engage part of the cycle. Engagement goes by many names: maybe you have heard it referenced as informing your donors, or maybe you have gone to a conference that talked about discovery and cultivation. Engagement combines all of these concepts. It is the way that you inform your donors about the impact that they are making. It is the way that you learn more about them and their giving, and it is the way that you provide ways for donors to interact with the mission.

Fundraising Tax Letter and Top Annual Donor Stewardship

There are three tips:

  1. Tax Receipt Letter- This should go in the mail this week. You would like it in your donor's hands by January 31.

2. Contact your accountant to confirm your yearly audit. Find out what they need from you.

3. Run a list of your donors from last year and figure out the top 10% of your donors. Work to get appointments with them to thank them for their support.
